Tostadas are one of my go to quick and easy when I am tired or we are having a busy day. The great thing about them is they are customizable . Pretty much anything you’d like on a taco would be great on a tostada. This is another post that is more method than recipe but I will share how I made them last night.
Tostadas
Ingredients:
- Tostada shells or corn tortillas. I recommend getting the already fried shells at the grocery store because they are a lot quicker and to me have a better flavor.
- Refried beans. I used about two cups of the homemade beans. .
- Toppings: shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, hot sauce, salsa, meat-ground beef, shredded beef/chicken, sour cream, avocado, guacamole.
Directions:
Heat refried and warm tostada shells if desired. Spread a layer of beans on shell and add desired toppings. The ones pictured above had beans, hot sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, taco sauce, and sour cream in that order.

This is one of my favorite quick dishes- and my family loves them. Just a nice twist from tacos. I’m looking forward to trying your homemade refried bean recipe, though. Yum!
